Care Guide

Hand Wash Bathing Suits

To maintain the vibrant colors and the delicate fabric of your Ir Al Sol swimwear, hand washing is essential. Here’s how to care for your suit:

  1. Prepare the Water Bath: Begin by placing your swimsuit in a clean sink, bathtub, or basin filled with cool water.

  2. Gentle Detergent Use: Add a tablespoon of a mild laundry detergent. We suggest ARM & HAMMER Sensitive Free & Clear for its gentle touch on fine fabrics. Swirl the water to ensure the detergent is evenly dispersed. Use lesser detergent than for machine washes to avoid excessive suds.

  3. Eliminate Chlorine Odor: For suits exposed to chlorine, neutralize odors by adding 1/2 cup of ARM & HAMMER Baking Soda or Clean Sensations Scent Booster with Odor Blasters to the water.

  4. Soaking: Allow your swimwear to soak for approximately 30 minutes to ensure thorough cleaning.

  5. Rinse Thoroughly: After soaking, rinse the suit with cold water until all suds are gone. Remember to also rinse your hands to remove any detergent residue.

Additional Care Tips

  • Washing Nuances: Utilize a dedicated bucket or plastic bin with cool to warm water for hand washing. Avoid machine washing which can harm the spandex content and overall integrity of your swimwear.

  • Choosing the Right Detergent: We recommend selecting a gentle detergent formulated for delicate fabrics. For athletic use, consider a sport detergent that targets stains from sunscreen and sweat without being harsh.

  • Stain Removal: If your swimwear has stubborn stains, gently treat these areas with a stain bar, taking care not to damage the fabric.

  • Drying Techniques: Post-wash, gently roll your swimsuit in a towel to absorb excess water. Dry flat in a shaded area to maintain the shape and prevent sun damage. Never wring out your swimsuit.

  • Protect the Fabric: Be mindful of rough surfaces that could pill the fabric. Also, be cautious with jewelry or other accessories that might snag.

  • Smart Transport: Use the provided bikini bag for both transport and storage to keep your swimwear in pristine condition. These bags also serve as wet bikini bags to prevent moisture from affecting other items.

Swimwear Longevity

  1. Rinse After Use: Always rinse your swimwear in cold water post-wear to preserve the color and fabric integrity.

  2. Safe Drying: Dry your suit flat, away from direct sunlight, to retain its original shape.

  3. Wear with Care: Shake off any sand or debris after wearing. Ensure your swimwear is completely dry before the next wear. Avoid prolonged exposure to chlorine and apply sunscreens or oils prior to dressing.

By following these guidelines, you can enjoy your Ir Al Sol swimwear for many seasons to come.
